Friend and I just installed new front brakes on my 5th gen. The old ones weren’t totally shot, but it was time to change them.

Kinja'd!!!

Everything’s bled and broken in properly. Feels good, man.

I bled my brakes for the first time last year and it was really weird not having much travel in the pedal. I didn't really like it at first because I couldn't heel toe without hitting the brakes way too hard

Yeah, it’s going to take some time to get used to. The pads I used (Hawk HP Plus) had a break-in procedure of 6-8 brake stabs at medium speeds, then 6-8 more at “simulated racing conditions” according to the box. Once they broke in, I really noticed. After that we stopped and let the brakes cool.
